Chief Financial Officer POSITION: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
LOCATION/TRAVEL: Toledo, OH or Greenville, SC
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
TRAVEL: Up to 15% domestic
POSITION SUMMARY: Our client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join their industrial manufacturing business in the Toledo area! The right candidate will be a data-driven thought partner who works cross-functionally to help teams dive deeper into their financials. The CFO will build FP&A discipline and processes to proactively evaluate operational, commercial, and financial metrics to achieve $12M EBITDA organically within three years. They will oversee cash flow in a highly variable, engineered-to-order, project-based business while strategizing investments for organic growth and M&A. The CFO will be a critical member of the leadership team responsible for shaping and executing the strategic planning process.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Developing and implementing financial strategies to support business growth and profitability
- Aligning financial goals with overall business objectives through collaboration with the President and executive team
- Enhancing revenue, profit, and cash flow forecasting processes
- Planning resource allocation effectively to support growth periods
- Analyzing cost structures to identify opportunities for margin improvement and implementing strategies to optimize net working capital while reducing operating expenses
- Identifying and prioritizing KPIs that drive performance; ensuring the finance team focuses on metrics aligned with strategic goals
- Formalizing M&A processes and leading the acquisition process from due diligence to integration
- Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulations
- Driving efficiency in administrative functions such as IT, legal, and insurance to support organizational growth and OpEx
- Providing insightful analysis and reports to support decision-making
- Identifying potential financial risks and developing mitigation strategies
- Maintaining a robust internal control environment to safeguard company assets
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: •Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required; MBA or similar preferred
•Professional certifications (CPA or CFA) preferred
•8+ years of professional experience in accounting with significant time spent in leadership roles
•Proven experience leading financial transformation in a small (•Proven experience in strategic planning, setting clear goals, and guiding teams towards achieving long-term objectives
•Demonstrated ability to thrive in smaller, resource-constrained environments with immature business processes and teams
•Demonstrated ability to build FP&A discipline, processes, and teams from the ground up
•Track record of achieving measureable improvements in gross margin, operating expenses rationalization, and working capital reduction
•Experience scaling resources during period of strong growth while maintaining profitability and ROIC targets
•Extensive experience managing multiple acquisitions from diligence through integration
•Experience in a Lean-disciplined business and exposure to Continuous Improvement principles such as Strategy Deployment, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Standard Work, Problem Solving, Kanban, Visual Daily Management, 80/20
•Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
