Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) leads AACI’s financial strategy and oversees all financial operations, including planning, reporting, forecasting, analysis, budgeting, and compliance. The CFO ensures that financial practices and procedures align with contractual requirements and budgetary constraints, while also developing and implementing strategies and policies to support AACI's mission and goals. Additionally, the CFO advises the CEO on financial matters and serves as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors regarding financial and investment matters.As a member of the executive leadership team, the CFO advises the CEO on financial matters and serves as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors regarding financial and investment decisions.Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field. Graduate degree in a relevant field desired.Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, including 5 plus years in a nonprofit organization.Previous experience as CFO or in an equivalent role.Experience with donor and grant budgeting.Demonstrated successful financial management, including developing and implementing financial strategies, managing budgets, and overseeing financial reporting and compliance.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Demonstrated ability to effectively perform the responsibilities outlined above.Understanding of GAAP reporting rules and requirements.Proficient in computerized financial systems, data analysis, and reporting.Expertise in Microsoft Office, financial databases, and other financial software.Ability to analyze data and information from diverse sources.Ability to provide appropriate interpretation of relevant federal, state, county, and local laws and regulations.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.Collaborative management style and effective skills in working successfully with individuals with varying degrees of financial knowledge.Outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills.Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural professional and experiential background.Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Leadership Competencies Business Acumen: Ability to understand business issues.
