Division: Tarheel Electric Membership Association (TEMA) - Warehouse Operations
Summary Description: Perform an array of functions in a team setting that may include, receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, and/or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse, while follow safe and effective practices in line with company goals.
Academic and Trade Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Work Experience: Two-year experience in a warehouse or in some occupation requiring knowledge of stock and inventory. Work background in physical or manual type labor. Experience in operating a forklift required. Minimal level of computer experience necessary. Lean warehousing experience a plus.
Responsibilities: - Responsible for maintaining the warehouse in an efficient and safe order to maximum accessibility for inventory accuracy and shipment of material.
- Responsible for shipping and receiving stock in a manner that will provide the best service at the lowest cost.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials and supplies in order to provide traceable accounts in the event of error.
- Develop a better knowledge of the products in order to provide better service to customers.
Job Knowledge: Must be familiar with safety rules and precautions as set forth by OSHA. Should have knowledge of correct and efficient methods of loading and unloading materials for shipping and receiving.
Abilities and Skills: Must be able to operate a forklift effectively and safely. Must be in good physical condition. Must be able to communicate effectively and congenially with customers, the public and other office staff. Basic computer skills required as well as RF scanner experience. Must possess valid NC driver's license.
Relationships and Contacts: Reports to the Director of Warehouse
Working Conditions: Must be able to work in all types of weather. Must be willing to be available or on call during weekends or nights in emergency situations. Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.
