Overview:
Yale New Haven Hospital has positions available for certified or certification eligible Medical Lab Professions. MLS, MT, MLTs and those with applicable ASCP categorical certifications are welcome to apply. As a member of our Laboratory Medicine team, you will get to work with some of the leading experts in a number of specialty fields every day. Responsibilities:
- Understands and adheres to Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
- Demonstrate knowledge and adhere to laboratory and hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates technical competency by performing a wide variety of laboratory techniques. These include moderate to highly complex tests.
- Demonstrates sufficient knowledge and skills to independently operate instrumentation and/or assigned benches.
- Operates all department equipment safely and according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshoots instruments failures.
- Meet continuing education requirements.
- Participates in activities that demonstrate professionalism, a commitment to competency and career growth.
- Performs a variety of routine tests and procedures, performs instrument maintenance procedures, perform routine quality control procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned to assure efficient operations of department, including covering other lab sections.
Qualifications:
Education: AS degree in Medical Laboratory Science, BS Degree Medical Laboratory Science or BS Degree in a Biological Science with 1-year clinical lab experience. ASCP certified, eligible or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum experience 0-1 year in a Clinical Laboratory, new graduates welcome to apply.
