Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the collection and organization of documents and information from various cases at the firm. This candidate should feel comfortable relaying messages between various groups and keeping all documents important to the cases they are working on organized.

Full time- Direct Hire (Onsite)

Morning shift- Monday- Friday

$65,000-$80,000 a year salary plus benefits

Fort Laureldale area

Legal Assistant/Paralegal Responsibilities:

Support Attorney to prepare and file necessary court documents to open, process, and close the Estate; including case initiation, locate and develop case-relevant information, intake of death certificate and decedents Estate documentation, depositing will with the court, schedule hearings, file documents, financial analysis, claim management, etc.

Organize and complete estate planning documents for clients.

Manage legal assistant tasks including monitor deadlines, conduct legal research, and draft Estate, Trust and Probate documents.

Efficiently handle all administrative tasks including answer and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, scan, copy, save documents, send out mailings, prepare conference room and papers for client meetings, etc.

Provide timely and courteous correspondence with clients and courts, financial institutions, insurance companies, medical agencies, the IRS, etc.

Act as occasional backup for receptionist time off: answering phones and greeting office guests.

Legal Assistant/Paralegal Skills and Experiences:

3 or more years working experience as Legal Assistant/Secretary or Paralegal in a law office supporting the areas of Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration.

Knowledge of the Probate process and courts rules in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade.

Aptitude with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and PDF writers (Nuance or Adobe).

Experience using a legal case management software (ideally Practice Master) for saving documents and correspondence and for entering your time.

Excellent administrative and organizational skills.

Ability to work cooperatively with a team.

Interest in taking initiative to suggest and/or implement process improvements.

Ability to juggle multiple tasks at a time, maintain a high quality of work, and keep deadlines.

Excellent English both written and spoken and ability to proofread documents for accuracy.
