Overview: The
System Executive Director (ED) provides visionary leadership for the
Deaconess Foundation , overseeing all operations, donor relations, and volunteer services. The ED collaborates with regional officers and advisory councils to cultivate donors, implement strategic plans, and promote the Foundation's mission, vision, and values. This role is key to advancing Deaconess' impact through innovative fundraising, community engagement, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and inspire staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to achieve strategic goals.
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising initiatives, including major gifts, campaigns, and planned giving.
- Oversee Foundation operations, volunteer services, and gift shop management.
- Build and maintain relationships with donors and community leaders.
- Serve as the Foundation's primary spokesperson, representing Deaconess at events and community activities.
- Ensure financial transparency, manage budgets, and provide reports to the Board.
- Collaborate with the Board and System leadership to align strategies and priorities.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive fundraising experience, with proven results.
- Strong commitment to the Foundation's mission, vision, and values.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills.
- Ability to build consensus and foster collaboration across diverse teams.
- Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
