Summary:
Pulls and ships orders using scanners and desktop computer. Loads and unloads trucks. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment and invoicing by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, picking tickets, or other records.
• Determines best/lowest cost method of shipment for outgoing freight via provided software.
• Contacts transport companies, brokers, and suppliers to expedite, trace or return merchandise that does not conform to specifications or purchase and sale orders.
• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons and pallets of outgoing shipments.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Handles customer pickups.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies and cycle count inventory according to established guidelines and assist with developing actions to correct inventory problems.
• Operates powered industrial lift trucks, uses hand jack or other equipment to move items from a storage location. Effectively load or unload, transport, and store goods safely and efficiently.
• Studies picking tickets, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
• Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and shipment condition by Inspecting and verifying incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages, and reject damaged goods.
• Reads shipping orders to determine quantity and type of transportation needed.
• Receives merchandise - checks and signs delivery slips, and assists with unloading as necessary.
• Audits open orders reports to ensure order fulfillment.

Education and Experience:
Minimum two (2) years prior experience in shipping/receiving environment. High School diploma or GED preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to communicate in English effectively with employees of the organization, vendors, customers, and guests.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate basic math with the aid of a calculator.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software and Manufacturing software.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires that the incumbent be physically able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Job Performance Standards:

• Ensure material to be shipped matches picking ticket and is scanned properly to maintain our inventory integrity.
• Generate accurate packing slips via desktop computer.
• Uses approved shipping vendors and regularly confer with Plant Manager to achieve lowest possible shipping costs.
• Responsible for ensuring shipping method used matches customer request.
• Accurately label all items to be shipped.
• Accurately record all shipping / freight costs.
• Maintains internal record-keeping systems.
• On a daily basis, ship all orders due based on directives given.
• Knows proper shipping procedures for transportation of dangerous goods.
• Knows safe storage and handling procedures for various chemicals and materials.
• Makes inventory, maintains storage area, organizes and places stock on shelves. Ensures the site is secure at all times. Must follow proper inventory procedures.

Fluent in English.

Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule: 8 hour day shift 7AM-4:00PM M-F
