Job Summary
The University Residences Clerk will provide operational and clerical support for assigned University Residence hall. Responsible for providing a variety of services including office functions, operations support, and customer service, while working at the main desk area in a student centered environment and prioritize responsibilities. Responsible for maintaining the highest level of customer service. This position will enter and update student records, and prepare reports as it relates to assigned residence halls. The Clerk will assist during student check-in and check-out process. Responsible for hiring and training student employees.

Responsibilities and Duties
Residence Hall Operations Support
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)
•Strong work standards and productivity, decision making and dependability.
•Strong attention to detail and stress tolerance.
•Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, telephone etiquette, organizational and customer support.
•Ability to supervise, train, and direct student staff.
•Ability to work effectively with individuals from different viewpoints and backgrounds utilizing the StudentLife mission and teamwork in daily work activity.
Receptionist Duties
•Answer phones, greet customers, assist with operating office equipment & oversee mail.
•Provide assistance to a diverse global student body in support of student success.
•Exercise diplomacy, tact and foster cooperation in responding to customers and staff
•Work in student centered environment, handle emergencies and prioritize responsibilities
•Provide the highest level of customer service.
Functional Supervision of Student Staff
•Schedule and manage assignments for student staff
•Provide guidance and communication regarding daily duties for student staff
•Coordinate staff meetings, student hiring and on-boarding process
•Assist in training of student staff
•Maintain student employee files
Other Duties
•Collaborate and assist with other divisional events assigned by Residential Life leadership.
•Assist with summer conferences as needed.
•Other duties as assigned.
What We Are Looking For
Required:
•High school diploma/GED
•A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a customer service, clerical or office role
Preferred:
•Knowledge of University policies and procedures
Skills:

•FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible for Overtime)
