Responsibilities and description:
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Interpret physician referrals for basic clinical evaluations, develop treatment programs based on established protocols and set functional and measurable goals for patients.
- Provide comprehensive patient and family education, initiate discharge planning, make recommendations for community resources and ensure discharge planning and follow-up services are in place.
- Participate in team conferences and discharge planning.
Comprehensive Patient Care:
- Utilize assistant and support staff effectively.
- Function as a collaborative interdisciplinary team member.
- Address requests for changes in treatment plan and completion of discharge reports.
- Serve as a contact person for family, referral sources, and outside agencies.
Clinical Supervision:
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately.
- Maintain compliant levels of clinical supervision and documentation review.
Education:
- Participate in professional development and stay informed of current developments.
- Update assessment and therapy procedures based on new information.
- Assist with orientation and education of therapy staff, students, and volunteers.
- Meet required educational contact hours for licensure.
Requirements:
EDUCATION:
Graduate of a CAPTE accredited program in Physical Therapy or equivalent and B.S. degree
