POSITION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization with completion of an accredited medical assistant program. Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (MA) and possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties.
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' chart and EMR system. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone and maintaining records.
- Performing basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assisting with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
- Documenting the provider's encounter with patients. Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider. Transcribes patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to prioritize needs and plan work accordingly.
- Knowledge of HIPPA.
Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Salary: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
