Position Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Colorectal Surgeon to join our team of three highly skilled colorectal surgeons. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in diagnosing and managing a broad spectrum of colorectal conditions, including advanced and recurrent colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, benign anorectal disorders, and diverticulitis. This role involves performing complex procedures such as robotic-assisted colorectal surgeries, and providing comprehensive preoperative and postoperative care. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, contribute to the education and training of surgical residents, engage in clinical research, and stay abreast of advancements in the field. Board certification in colorectal surgery, exceptional surgical and endoscopic skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care are essential. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated surgeon to significantly impact patient care and advance their career within a supportive and dynamic environment. The physician will primarily be caring for patients with terminal conditions in the medical center with special emphasis in the cancer patients but not limited to the cancer center. The individual will partner with existing psycho-oncology department, social work, clergy and the different hospice care agencies at the institution.
- 10+ years of experience performing complex colo-rectal surgery
- Management of recurrent rectal cancer
- Perform colonoscopy and benign anorectal procedures
- Diagnose and treat a variety of colorectal conditions.
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary medical team.
- Participate in research activities.
- Participate in surgical education and training.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in colorectal surgery.
- Develop and implement patient treatment plans.
- Conduct in-office patient consultations and follow-up care.
- Participate in ER call coverage as determined by Division Chief and Department CHair
- Explain complex medical information to patients and families.
- Ensure high standards of patient care and safety.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Participate in hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide mentorship to junior medical staff.
- Engage in continuous professional development.
Requirements
- Board certification in colorectal surgery.
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid medical license to practice in Florida.
- Extensive experience in colorectal and robotic surgery.
- Strong surgical skills and precision.
