UNC Health Pardee is seeking a dedicated and experienced Trauma Medical Director to develop and lead our new level 3 trauma program. The successful candidate will have a strong clinical background in trauma care, exceptional leadership skills, and a vision for providing high-quality emergency medical services to our community.
Position Summary
As the Trauma Medical Director at UNC Health Pardee, you will play a pivotal role in the advancement of our trauma services. If you are passionate about trauma care and have the leadership skills to drive change and improve patient outcomes, we encourage you to apply. Position includes:
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive level 3 trauma program, ensuring alignment with local, state, and national standards.
- Collaborate with hospital administration to strategize and execute plans for the trauma service line, including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in trauma care.
- Ensure compliance of the trauma program with all regulatory and accreditation bodies, including the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
- Provide direct patient care in the trauma center and participate in the on-call
- Lead performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives related to trauma
- Foster relationships with other hospitals and healthcare organizations for patient transfer and referrals.
- Develop and facilitate educational programs and training for the trauma team and hospital staff.
Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited
- Board-certified in General Surgery with an additional Fellowship in Trauma Surgery or Surgical Critical Care.
- Current, unrestricted medical
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in trauma care, with at least two (2) years in a leadership role.
- Proven knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards for a level 3 trauma
