  • Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)
  • Job Summary: The CSFA will assist in skin closure, subcutaneous closure and ties, fascia closure and ties, closure and ties of peritoneum, tying deep vessels, incising tissue and performs hemostatic techniques; assists with procedural set up and patient preparedness for specific procedures in positioning, prepping and draping, and participate in patient transport and room turnover.
  • Types of Cases REQ: General, Ortho/Spine/Joints, Vascular, Gyn Endo/Laparoscopic and Labor & Delivery cases
  • First-timers accepted: Yes
  • Weekend REQ: As needed per on call requirements
  • Is on-call REQ? Yes; Call, off-shifts and holidays are scheduled as needed on the unit for all staff
  • Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes
  • Floating Req to Sister Facilities: Open to accommodating block schedule? At Manager's Discretion
  • Guaranteed Hours: see billing rules
    Job Requirements
  • Required: CSFA
  • VA Board of Medicine Certified First Surgical Assistant w/ NBSTSA and NCCSA required
  • 2 yrs exp
  • Preferred: CSTFA
    Schedule Information
  • Shift: 07:00-17:00 OR 11:00-21:00 based on needs of unit
  • Call required, nights, weekends holidays as needed
    Unit Specific Information
  • Inpatient, outpatient and trauma work setting experience required.
    Additional Details
  • Required for all candidates. Must include front and back copy.
  • Candidates working driving positions require physical driver's license front and back copy. Must be valid VA driver's license.
