Responsibilities also include ordering tests, prescribing medication, and participating in administrative functions within the facility.
Position provides Medical Care to an all female inmate population within the NC Correctional Institution. Position performs physical exams, and provides primary care services for acute and chronic medical conditions. Provider evaluates patients in a medical clinic setting, consults with patients, and refers to other clinics or specialists as needed, orders diagnostic and lab tests, writes prescriptions, transfers patients to infirmary unit, documents electronic medical records, and performs life saving procedures. POSITION IS A PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING MEDICAL CARE TO ALL FEMALE INMATE PATIENTS ASSIGNED TO THIS FACILITY. Position also provides care for employees as needed, and may participate in policy development, staff meetings and other administrative functions. Position will be supervised by the Deputy Medical Director.
