Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$27.78 - $37.50 / hour
Summary Plans and organizes the activities of the coding department staff. Supervises and oversees the daily operations consistent with department policies and procedures. Coding supervisor ensures accuracy, consistency and efficiency in relation to code assignment for reimbursement and reporting purposes. The coding supervisor oversees quality reviews for coding staff in order to validate code and reimbursement assignments. Additional responsibilities include monitoring governmental and insurance industry information for correct code assignments, oversees training coding staff, communicating with physicians and health care professionals to clarify supportive documentation for code assignment and working with the billing department to ensure appropriate codes assignment. Coding supervisor may also be asked to compile data reports for meetings, serve on committees and attend professional meetings. Coding Supervisor is responsible for direct reports. Will conduct performance appraisals for staff directly supervised. Requirements Educational Requirements
Degree/Diploma Obtained Program of Study Required/
Preferred and/or Associate's Required or Additional Requirements
3 years medical coding experience required with at least 1 year ER E/M coding experience.
At least 1 year of previous supervisory experience required.
