Cardiac Care Unit Directorship and Faculty Opening with the University of Arizona

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, is seeking an experienced cardiovascular intensivist to join a growing academic Division of Cardiology by serving as Director of the Cardiac Care Unit. This CCU will be a first-ever ICU at BUMC-P at the academic affiliated medical center in Phoenix. The Director will be managing complex patients with acute coronary syndromes, arrhythmias, structural heart disease, mechanical support devices, and advanced heart failure patients in a collaborative team model with multispecialty faculty within the Divisions of Cardiology, Pulmonary Medicine, and Cardiac Surgery. BUMCP is the largest hospital in the state of Arizona with a blend of community-based physicians and employed faculty. The growing Cardiology Division faculty consists of 3 interventional cardiologists, 4 electrophysiologists, 3 non-invasive imaging specialists, and 5 advanced heart failure physicians. The qualified candidate will receive an academic appointment at the University of Arizona College of Medicine that is consistent with their credentials.

Minimum Requirements:

• Board Certified Cardiologist with BC/BE in either of the following: interventional cardiology, cardiology critical care, or surgical critical care
• Desire to teach and mentor multi-disciplinary intensive care unit residents and fellows
• Experienced Critical Care Cardiologists are encouraged to apply
• 5 years of post-fellowship experience is desired

Position Details:

• Position includes training and management of ECMO, balloon pumps and mechanical circulatory support, ventricular assist devices & transplantation
• Our quaternary referral center performs all cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures, including transplantation
