Job Details
- This position accurately applies ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, including skills required in performing a variety of technical procedures, resulting in the highest quality diagnostic radiograph, with the least amount of radiation exposure to the patient.
- Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures utilizing accurate application of ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
- Positions patient and equipment appropriately to accurately demonstrate the area being examined, requiring extensive anatomic positioning skills.
- Provides appropriate radiation protection for patient and staff during radiation exposures according to prescribed safety standards.
- Adjusts technical factors to provide appropriate exposure by use of independent judgment, knowledge of human anatomy, effect of disease on the radiograph and the principles of radiation as well as the specific operation of all radiologic equipment within the department.
