Clinical Details
- Inpatient
- Patients per shift: 9 max scheduled cases/day (not including unscheduled patients who are admitted)
- Beds in department: 12 LDR + 3 Low intervention rooms (midwifery)
- Rounding patients: assigned and unassigned
- Stroke certified facility
- Trauma level 1
- PEDs level 2
- Average number of deliveries per year: 2500
- Not fully a true laborist job, as some gyn coverage is provided on occasion
- The Generalist OB group will be taking call for their private patients
- Cover inpatient OB as well as inpatient GYN consults on the floor and in the ER
Requirements
- Board Certified with ABOG
- ACLS, ATLS, BLS
Support Staff
- Days average 7-9 floor nurses (plus 1 charge, 2 triage RN's)
- Nights average 5-6 floor nurses (plus 1 charge, 2 triage RN's)
- These drop by about 1-2 nurses on the weekend due to lower case-load
- OB Assistants (3 on days, 2 on nights) and Surgical Technicians (3 on days, 2 on nights)
- 4 midwives that care for patients - collaborate with physicians with increased in level of care situations
