We are looking for a Primary Care Physician to provide outpatient care for a diverse patient population in Southern California. This locum tenens position offers a full-time schedule with no on-call responsibilities and the possibility of extension after a 13-week contract. We are seeking a Primary Care Physician for a locum tenens assignment near San Gabriel, California. This is a full-time opportunity at a primary care clinic that provides outpatient care to patients of all ages. The position starts in early December 2024 and runs for a 13-week contract, with the possibility of extension.
Position Details:
- Location: Near San Gabriel, CA
- Start Date: December 2, 2024 (or December 9, 2024)
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Patient Contact Time: 7 hours per day, with 1 hour for administrative work
- Patient Census: 18-20 patients per day
- Coverage Type: No call, no weekends
- Contract Length: 3+ months (13 weeks), with the possibility of extension
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to a diverse patient population, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- Perform common outpatient primary care procedures (e.g., skin biopsies, laceration repair, cyst removal)
- Utilize Epic EMR for charting and documentation
- Deliver patient-centered care in collaboration with a supportive medical team including medical assistants and front office staff
Requirements:
- Board Certification: Family Medicine preferred but not required
- Licensure: Must hold an active California medical license in good standing
- DEA License: Required
- Certifications: BLS/ACLS required
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months recent outpatient primary care experience; must be familiar with California medical regulations
- EMR Experience: Epic experience strongly preferred
- Vaccination Requirements: COVID-19 and flu vaccines not mandatory, but recommended
