An Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department and Urgent Care settings. They are accountable for their actions and work under the supervision of a physician, ensuring safe and effective healthcare delivery. Their role includes assessing, diagnosing, and managing a variety of acute medical conditions and collaborating with the healthcare team.
The Physician Assistant (PA) and/or Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide health care services to patients in the Emergency Department (ED) and/or Urgent Care (UC) with guidance/supervision as needed from physician on duty. PAs and NPs are academically and clinically trained to provide direct patient care and are accountable for their own actions. They are supervised by the physician who is on duty as the hospitalist and are responsible for consulting the hospitalist physician as needed to ensure safe patient care.
