The Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician at the Salisbury VA Health Care System provides specialized psychiatric care to veterans dealing with various mental health issues, including anxiety, mood disorders, and substance use disorders. The Mental Health & Behavioral Science Service Line at the Salisbury VA Health Care System is seeking seasoned Psychiatrists to provide care to a diverse veteran population with a good deal of mental health related issues to include but not limited to Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Severe Mental Illness, Substance Use Disorders, and medical co-morbidities.

Job Responsibilities:
Provides psychiatric care in inpatient units, ambulatory programs, residential program for substance abuse, residential program for PTSD, emergency department, medical-surgical ward, geriatrics with extended programs as required.

Experience working with an interdisciplinary team of Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and several other allied mental health professionals.

Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.

Proven understanding of the contexts and systems in which healthcare is provided, and an ability to apply this knowledge to improve optimizing health.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting
