Under supervision of a radiologist and direction of the department leadership, competently performs imaging on all digital mammography equipment and assists in the stereotactic biopsies. Responsible for radiographing and imaging protocols in mammography. Must have the ability to recognize digital anatomy. Responsible for general MQSA at the direction of the lead technologist. Responsible for providing service excellence and complying with hospital policies and procedures. Uses the RIS/PACS and HIS for proper recording of patient exams and dissemination of patient results.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have completed an approved and accredited Radiology Technology program
Minimum Work Experience
- Recent, up to one year, hospital related experience.
- Digital Imaging and post processing PACS experience.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Must possess current Vt. state RT license
- Mammography certified by ARRT*
- Bone Density certified by AART**
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
- Must obtain 24 ECE credits, in a two-year period, for re-certification and licensure.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge and ability to provide care based on physical and psychosocial development and safety issues related to patients of all age groups, including infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
- Demonstrated competency in Needle localization/Breast biopsy procedure.
- Demonstrated competency in Sterile Technique and Time-Out procedure.
- Basic Microsoft Window desktop application and navigation skills.
Pay Range = $30.18 - $44.61
