Position Overview
In this role, you'll provide exceptional customer service by assisting with sales, answering questions, offering gardening solutions, and helping customers find the products they need. Whether you're working part-time or full-time, seasonally or year-round, you'll contribute to a welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful atmosphere for our gardening clientele.
In addition to front-line customer service, you will also handle cashier duties, upsell and cross-sell products, and assist with basic yard tasks when necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the store.

What you'll do:

• Provide top-notch customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and helping them find the right gardening products for their needs.
• Operate the cash register, process transactions, and handle returns or exchanges with efficiency and accuracy.
• Upsell and cross-sell products, recommending complementary items to enhance the customer's gardening experience (e.g., suggesting soil, fertilizers, or garden tools with plant purchases).
• Assist customers with locating products in-store and provide guidance on product usage or plant care.
• Use your knowledge of gardening products to offer personalized solutions, ensuring customers leave satisfied with everything they need.
• Assist with inventory management, restocking shelves, and organizing products to maintain a tidy and visually appealing store.
• Help load products into customer vehicles and provide additional assistance when necessary, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.
• Support seasonal or smaller-scale yard tasks as needed, such as unloading trucks, watering plants, and maintaining the outdoor displays.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and contribute to the store's overall success.
• Other duties as assigned to support branch operations.

• Experience with cash register operation and basic point-of-sale systems.

• Willingness to learn more about the green industry and stay current on new gardening trends and products.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Positive, can-do attitude and a desire to contribute to a fun, team-oriented atmosphere.
• Physical ability to perform light yard associate tasks, such as watering plants, restocking products, or helping with deliveries when necessary.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
