Key Responsibilities Performance Management: - Coach, write, and deliver performance appraisals to ensure associates grow in their skillsets and work within safety parameters.
- Provide timely performance feedback and ensure teams are well-informed about tasks, problems, and company initiatives.
Production Support: - Solve problems, assign tasks, and schedule services.
- Conduct team and department meetings.
- Train on quality and processes, initiate preventive maintenance, and lead improvement projects.
- Ensure equipment and processes run efficiently, schedules are completed on time, and finished goods are delivered to Shipping to prevent backorders.
Project Leadership: - Lead and support projects affecting the department with subordinates and supporting departments.
- Identify, evaluate, and complete projects that add value to operations.
- Conduct safety and efficiency evaluations using tools like return on investment and root cause analysis.
Capacity & Budget Planning: - Run appropriate reports to maintain budgets and address variances.
- Evaluate capacity and propose solutions for 0-8 week schedules, including temporary staffing needs or overtime suggestions.
Safety Initiatives: - Attend safety committee meetings and inspections.
- Create and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Conduct accident investigations using root cause analysis and perform annual department hazard assessments.
- Train associates on company safety programs.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: - Interview, hire, train, and assist with onboarding new associates to ensure effective training and retention.
Inventory Management: - Ensure work-in-process is completed properly, and cycle count audits meet departmental metrics.
- Research inventory variances and apply root cause solutions.
Skills and Abilities: - Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and databases.
- Advanced knowledge of company policies, safety procedures, and ERP operating software (Oracle).
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively train and coach associates, manage performance, and facilitate process improvements.
Education and Experience: - High School Diploma required.
- Supervisory and Leadership Training preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience or 3-5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Physical and Work Environment: - Work occurs in an office and manufacturing warehouse environment.
- Requires a high level of focus and ability to handle interruptions.
- Minimal physical effort required, with occasional exposure to forklift and equipment hazards.
