Ghostrx is currently interviewing Medical Technologist for coverage at The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center *(VAMC)* located in *Baltimore, MD*

*Contract Length*

1 year base with 3 year option to extend

*Pay *

starting at $38.00/hr (includes health Benefits/fringe)

*Coverage*

Medical Technologists to cover the STAT (core) lab, Chemistry and Microbiology sections of the laboratory

*Required*

ASCP or AMT

BLS
* Minimum of 1 year of experience working with Blood bank, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Chemistry, Blood Gas, and Microbiology analyzers and instrumentations
* Preferable experience working with the following analyzers - Sysmex XN 9100 analyzer, Cellavision, Werfen IL ACLTOP 350 family analyzer, Arkray/IQ200 analyzer, Echo Galileo and Immucor Gamma analyzers, and Beckman AU/Dx analyzers

Specific Responsibilities

Competency in specimen analysis and instrumentation operation in multiple laboratory sections to include Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Urinalysis, Blood Bank and Microbiology

Quality Assurance

Failure to properly identify and correctly accession and label patient specimens may be grounds for termination.

Shift Tour of Duty

Rotating shifts as needed or required, including weekends including recognized Federal holidays. Hours of shifts are:

Weekday and weekend evenings: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM Midnight

Night: 12:00 AM Midnight - 8:00 AM

Weekend day shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Day shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: From $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
