Exciting Opportunity for a Professional Engineer in Water & Wastewater Systems


We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Professional Engineer to join our team and contribute to comprehensive, statewide initiatives focused on the design, construction, and improvement of water and wastewater treatment systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and shape essential utility projects, from planning through to execution, and work on exciting ventures such as swimming pool projects as well.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and review the design of utility projects, ensuring alignment with federal and state regulations, and ensuring environmental compliance.
  • Oversee and coordinate project planning, design reviews, and implementation of statewide water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Analyze the feasibility of proposed projects, ensuring their compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Review engineering reports, construction bid documents, and manage the bidding process, including bid openings.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide technical oversight to ensure that projects meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Approve invoices and monitor the progress of work.
  • Lead program and financial audits, and prepare necessary annual assessments to ensure effective project execution.
  • Oversee consultants and contractors, providing technical guidance and maintaining oversight throughout the lifecycle of each project.
  • Contribute to the prioritization and ranking of proposed utility projects to maximize impact and efficiency.
  • Represent the team by attending and presenting at legislative sessions, Infrastructure & Jobs Development Council meetings, and construction inspection meetings.
  • Prepare periodic reports and provide leadership across various key projects and duties as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) license issued by the West Virginia State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
  • Seven (7) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in engineering, in which three (3) years must be as a licensed Professional Engineer.


Note: The experience must have been acquired after the bachelor’s degree but may have occurred before or after registration as a professional engineer.
