Title: Project Manager / Civil Design Project Engineer
Duration: 6-month contract to hire
Pay Rate: $50-60/hr
Location: Irvine, CA
Must Haves:
• Professional Engineer license required (CA license required w/in 6 months of hire).
• 8+ years of professional experience in water resources design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, MicroStation and OpenRoads.
• Experience with 1-D steady and unsteady modeling such as HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, and similar.
• Experience with hydrologic modeling such as HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoHMS, and SWMM as well as statistical analysis of flow record.
• Experience with 2-D modeling (RAS-2D, FLO-2D, ADH, SRH-2D and similar).
• Experience with flood risk management design
• experience preparing plans, specifications, and estimates to complete a wide variety of challenging and complex hydrologic, hydraulic, and sediment transport analysis and design projects.
• Experience performing floodplain, inundation, and hydrologic studies.
• Experience with business development, marketing, and proposal preparation efforts.
• Experience Reviewing and provide QA/QC for engineering design
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).

A client that is a large player in the design and engineering consulting industry is looking for Project Manager / Civil Design Project Engineer to support ongoing projects and contracts will support business development in the future.The ideal candidate will have an emphasis on flood risk management design with experience preparing plans, specifications, and estimates to complete a wide variety of challenging and complex hydrologic, hydraulic, and sediment transport analysis and design projects.
In this role you will Manage the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for designing facilities such as levees, channels, and floodplain restoration features, including bio-engineered projects and levee setbacks. Perform floodplain, inundation, hydrologic, sediment transport, and scour analyses to support water resources projects. Prepare project reports, perform oral presentations, and work with a multidisciplinary team of geomorphologists, biologists, economists, planners, and other engineers. Supervise and delegate tasks to junior engineers and support staff, contribute to business development and proposal efforts, and review and provide QA/QC for engineering designs
