Job Description
Oversees the development, integration and administration of Business Development function's operational performance for Northwell Direct. Evaluates new business opportunities for profitability, ease of implementation and overall alignment to strategic plan of the business.
Job Responsibility

  • Leads a Business Development function by developing leaders and driving programs and initiatives that support and impact the overall goals of Northwell Direct.
  • Drive business for both insurance and healthcare services divisions of Northwell Direct.
  • Develops and articulates a long-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility.
  • Initiates and develops the strategic plans, policies and procedures; identifies and develops new business initiatives and opportunities consistent with the mission and strategic direction of the Laboratory Services and the health system.
  • Establishes and measures health system performance against goals and objectives; plans and directs the utilization of information resources to support the strategic direction and operation of Northwell Direct.
  • Provides financial and administrative oversight and problem resolution guidance for areas of responsibility.
  • Seeks out and evaluates new business opportunities for profitability, ease of implementation and overall alignment to strategic plan including Joint Ventures, Strategic Alliances, MSOs and other opportunities; conducts cost benefit feasibility studies to determine the viability of new product lines or business initiatives; analyzes competitors' services and prices, synthesizes information, and develops a cohesive, integrated marketing strategy and action plan.
  • Ensures active communication with all external and internal constituencies to establish strong relationships that are complimentary and consistent with health system goals and strategic plans; develop and manage operational scorecards, using data to drive performance.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulatory requirements and Joint Commission standards; interprets and standardizes all fiscal and regulatory reporting standards to ensure compliance with government and regulatory reporting and third-party agencies.
  • Directs the implementation of Human Resources plans to achieve strategic goals and objectives including health system development, recruiting, compensation, training and development, and employee engagement and relations; works to create a culture of integrity, quality and engagement to meet health system mission and goals.
  • Develops relationships with outside consultants and industry associations to ensure quality improvement process retains validity and maintains the latest techniques and concepts; keeps executive leadership and stakeholders well informed; oversees the assessment of services and development of new programs and research projects to ensure future health system growth and prosperity.

Job Qualification
  • Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 10-12 years of relevant experience in employer health benefits, and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required.
  • New York State Life, Accident & Health Insurance Agent / Broker license, preferred.

The salary range for this position is $205,200-$359,100/year
