Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven New Business Development Professional to join their team in Indianapolis, IN. This role is focused on identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing and executing sales plans, and building long-lasting customer relationships.
The role is on-site with a hybrid element, including customer visits but not extensive travel. The ideal candidate will be a hunter someone who is driven to pursue new business and grow the companys customer base.
Candidates who live in the Indianapolis area, have strong local connections, and experience selling in the local market are highly preferred for this role, as it requires deep knowledge of the area and relationship-building expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the companys customer base and revenue.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers across various industries, including medical supplies and equipment, construction, HVAC, and technology.
- Conduct in-person customer visits to understand their needs, offer tailored solutions, and build trust.
- Research and target potential customers within the final-mile and expedited delivery markets.
- Effectively present and communicate the company's services and value proposition to prospective clients.
- Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closing, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and retention.
- Track and report on sales performance metrics, providing updates to leadership as needed.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market opportunities to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including operations and logistics, to ensure seamless service delivery for new and existing customers.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of proven sales experience.
- Strong connections within the Indiana market and a track record of success in selling in Indiana.
- Expertise in New Business Development and Business Planning.
- Strong Sales and Account Management skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking abilities.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the courier, logistics, or transportation industry is a plus.
