Job Overview
The National Account Director (NAD) plays a critical role in executing a strategic engagement strategy for specific accounts. This position is essential for ensuring product access and coverage for a pioneering gene therapy targeting recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP). The NAD will proactively identify opportunities and trends to foster collaborations that enhance patient access and improve care quality. Responsibilities include forming relationships with key accounts, KOLs, providers, and administrators to drive product understanding and adoption.

Key Responsibilities
As a National Account Director, you will:

  • Achieve or surpass all defined objectives and expense plan goals through tailored strategies for assigned accounts.
  • Co-develop and implement Strategic Account Plans alongside Commercial Leadership.
  • Lead the execution of the payer account plan through regular calls and meetings.
  • Utilize value-based healthcare resources to challenge account assumptions and elevate clinical practices.
  • Participate in cross-functional market meetings focused on account profiling, performance engagement, and accountability.
  • Engage with KOLs at Ad Boards and Congresses.
  • Target key customers, including PBMs, National Health Plans, Medicare MACs, Regional Health Plans, IDNs, and customer leadership at multiple levels.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners to leverage their expertise for optimal results.
  • Enhance engagement levels with all client stakeholders at targeted accounts.
  • Identify and develop strategic engagement opportunities with KOLs within the assigned customers.
  • Facilitate proactive communication with internal and external customer stakeholders.
  • Gather insights from aligned Centers to communicate back to Commercial Leadership and the broader organization.
  • Align disease state activities with current sales and marketing objectives.
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Utilize sales support technology proficiently; experience with Salesforce/Veeva is preferred.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Showcase emotional intelligence, strategic focus, and the ability to build and maintain professional networks.

Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech field.
  • A minimum of 5 years in payer account management and hospital sales experience.
  • Experience navigating complex accounts is crucial for success.
  • Technical proficiency in healthcare reimbursement from both patient and provider perspectives.
  • Experience in Rare Disease, oncology (and/or immunology), with knowledge of Gene Therapy.
  • Cell and Gene Therapy experience is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Buy and Bill drug reimbursement dynamics with payers and Medicare MACs.
  • Experience launching products, especially in small to mid-sized companies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical skills to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Understanding of current policies and trends affecting the business.
  • Adept at articulating scientific and clinical information clearly.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional partners.
  • Knowledgeable about legal and regulatory considerations within the industry.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 60% of the time, requiring overnight stays.
  • Valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record.
