Columbia Ancillary Services, CAS, is seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to act as a liaison between the Company and the assigned Veterans Affairs Medical Center(s).
CAS is a family-owned business since 1991, providing quality equipment and services to skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, VA's, personal care homes, and home health. At CAS, our focus is on providing quality products and services in a cost-effective manner, providing excellent customer service, and building relationships with our customers and patients. In this role, you will provide day-to-day support to our branch offices, field workers, and VAMC.
Essential Functions
- Representing the company in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with client/patients.
- Obtaining orders from the VA via phone/fax/email.
- Coordinating paperwork flow to other CAS offices and to the billing department.
- Trouble shooting equipment issues via telephone.
- Routing telephone calls to the appropriate department or individual(s) in the Company.
- Establish and maintain client records.
- Setting up deliveries to the VA for service technicians.
- Correlating patient satisfaction surveys
- Logging complaints from patients and facilitating follow up.
- Communicate with billing department to ensure proper billing to insurance companies, contracts, other third party payers and client/patients for all products and services delivered; maintain accurate billing records.
- Assisting with ordering repair and/or replacement parts for equipment.
- Transferring of telephones for after hours and weekend calls.
- Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities.
- Participate in Company committees when requested.
- Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
- Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
- Completing quarterly reports for VA meetings.
- Assisting with travel arrangements for Veterans.
- Inventory of VA owned equipment in warehouse.
- Facilitating monthly patient visit reports.
- Obtaining POs from VA for billing.
- Assuming on call responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by General Manager.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications - High School diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in Home Medical (HME) Customer Service is preferred.
- Effective interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills in speaking and writing.
- Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records.
- Ability to recognize and direct information to the appropriate health care provider.
- Computer skills that include word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.
- Insurance reimbursement knowledge and health insurance billing experience preferred.
