What you will be doing
This person will lead the product management for "Product (Omni Item and Vendors) Merchandising Sub Pillar" and report directly to the Director of Product Management. She/he will define the product vision and roadmap for "Product" sub pillar to achieve the business KPIs. She/he will be responsible for collecting and interpreting user research and data, conceiving innovative products, creating a robust product roadmap, and managing the product lifecycle. The right candidate will be a strategic and ambitious visionary with the proven ability to deliver products that create impact and deliver exceptional value to our associates, vendors partners who are deeply focused in serving our guest shopping omni channel. This leader should be highly motivated to succeed and influence his/her team and stakeholders to do so, in an approachable manner, that engenders trust and confidence at all levels across the organization.
The Merchandising Product Management Department has an opening for a Principal Product Manager - Omni Item Onboarding. The position will be based in Plano, TX .
Main responsibilities
1. Product Strategy and Vision
•Develop and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for omni-channel item management systems, ensuring consistency and efficiency in managing product data across all channels.
•Partner with business stakeholders to align product strategies with organizational goals, such as inventory accuracy, catalog completeness, and channel parity.
•Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations in item management, data governance, and omni-channel retailing.
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration
•Collaborate with merchandising, supply chain, digital commerce, and store operations teams to gather requirements and address pain points in item lifecycle management.
•Work closely with engineering and data science teams to design and deliver scalable item management platforms and APIs that integrate with omni-channel systems.
•Lead partnerships with third-party and industry data pools like GDSN, Syndigo, Salsify etc to enhance item data workflows and capabilities.
3. Product Development and Execution
•Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for omni-channel item management tools, including item setup, enrichment, and synchronization across channels.
•Create detailed product specifications, user stories, and workflows for engineering teams, ensuring alignment with business goals.
•Drive execution through agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and stakeholder reviews.
4. Data Governance and Quality
•Develop and implement robust data governance strategies to ensure item data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all channels.
•Collaborate with data teams to define metrics, reporting, and alerts for monitoring item data performance and quality issues.
•Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML technologies for automating item categorization, attribution, and data validation.
5. Leadership and Stakeholder Management
•Serve as the thought leader for omni-channel item management, providing expertise to cross-functional teams and executives.
•Mentor junior product managers and contribute to the growth of the product management function.
•Advocate for a customer-first approach in item management processes, ensuring seamless product discovery and availability across all channels.
What we are searching for
Qualifications:
Education:
•Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.
•MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
•8+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years focused on omni-channel retail, item management, or catalog management.
•Proven track record of delivering item management solutions that drive operational efficiency and improve customer experience.
•Hands-on experience with item management platforms (e.g., PIM, DAM, ERP), data governance tools, and APIs.
Skills and Competencies:
•Strong analytical skills with experience in data governance and process optimization.
•Deep understanding of omni-channel retail operations, item lifecycle management, and inventory workflows.
•Proficiency in agile methodologies and product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
•Familiarity with data integration tools and concepts, including APIs, ETL pipelines, and master data management.
•Knowledge of AI/ML applications for data enrichment and validation is a plus.
