Junior Public Relations Account Executive (Hybrid)

B2B Tech Public Relations | Method Communications

Work Arrangement

The role can be performed hybrid (2x/week) for those based in San Francisco, Salt Lake City, or New York City. Fully remote candidates in Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, and Boston, MA, will also be considered.

The Opportunity

As a Junior Public Relations Account Executive, you will play a vital role in managing multiple client accounts and guiding Public Relations Associates and Graduate Associates. This is an exciting opportunity for hands-on professionals with a solid grounding in public relations who aim to refine their account management skills while delivering exceptional results for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support for Senior Account Executives and Account Executives across various client accounts.
  • Implement Method's Concierge Service Delivery Approach, ensuring clients receive top-notch service.
  • Research, draft, edit, and proofread media materials, including briefings, pitch emails, biographies, reports, and fact sheets.
  • Manage deadlines effectively, overseeing client speaking engagements and award submissions.
  • Monitor media outlets and publications, providing insights on media trends to stakeholders.
  • Create coverage reports and media pitches while actively contributing to pitching efforts.
  • Oversee daily/weekly media reports for clients.
  • Utilize media reporting tools such as Cision and TrendKite.
  • Coordinate projects and events, including inviting media, preparing press kits, and attending events.
  • Build and maintain a network of media contacts in both traditional and online platforms.

Business Development and Marketing Support

  • Engage in new business initiatives across various industries.
  • Develop personal leadership skills and deepen your knowledge of public relations.
  • Identify available tools and services Method provides.
  • Enhance your understanding of the intersection between marketing and PR.
  • Learn effective use of social media and analytics for client benefit.

Agency Engagement

  • Understand account budgets and ensure appropriate service levels.
  • Promptly record and submit time and expenses.
  • Act as a mentor to PR Associates and Graduate Associates, providing guidance, feedback, and promoting team collaboration.
  • Support Method's J.E.D.I. (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) initiatives, contributing to a culture of respect and inclusivity.

What We're Looking For

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in agency or in-house communications/marketing, preferably in technology-focused PR.
  • Experience with news media across various industries, including story pitching and outreach.
  • Passion for a career in technology-focused public relations.
  • Able to oversee and manage junior team members to meet project deadlines and expectations.
  • Proficient in Google Drive and its tools (Slides, Docs, Sheets).
  • Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

Salary Ranges

We believe in competitive and equitable compensation, simplified and transparent. Salary ranges include:

  • New York State: $59,029 - $73,267.
  • New York City: $71,890 - $87,650.
  • California State: $52,415 - $77,128.
  • San Francisco: $75,443 - $85,636.
  • Salt Lake City: $48,238 - $57,036.
  • Washington State: $52,336 - $61,870.

Work Arrangement

This position is hybrid (two days per week) in one of our hub offices located in New York City, San Francisco, or Salt Lake City.
