Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize deep learning, machine learning, and NLP techniques to develop scalable solutions focused on language model-centric systems that create personalized assistant experiences from diverse structured and unstructured contextual signals.
  • Innovate methods for contextual knowledge extraction and information retrieval, combining language models with other learning techniques, ensuring efficient grounding concerning memory, compute, latency, and quality.
  • Conduct research on advanced customer understanding and behavior modeling techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and scientists to tackle complex challenges in personal knowledge aggregation, processing, modeling, and verification.
  • Design and execute experiments to assess the performance of state-of-the-art algorithms and models, iterating quickly to achieve improved results.
  • Effectively communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences through presentations and written reports.

About Our Team:

As part of the AWS Utility Computing division, we provide groundbreaking product innovations ranging from foundational services like Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to newly released features that distinguish AWS in the industry. By joining the Utility Computing organization, you will support various services including Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, and beyond, addressing the needs of customers who require tailored security solutions for their cloud offerings.

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD, or a Masters degree with 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Experience with patents or publications in leading peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar.
  • Familiarity with algorithms, data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, and high-performance computing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Unix/Linux systems.
  • Professional software development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications.

The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $222,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay factors include job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
