  • MedSurg 5 South (Hem/Onc) position at University Hospital
  • Typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:5 to 1:6, adjusted for higher acuity patients
  • Experience with level 1 trauma and high acuity patients is required
  • Charge RNs are expected to have ACLS certification
    Job Requirements
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred for charge RNs
  • Experience with hem/onc and chemotherapy preferred
  • Comfortable with lines, chest tubes, and titrating drips
    Schedule Information
  • 12-hour shifts, either 7a-7p or 7p-7a
  • Travelers expected to fill scheduling gaps, but block scheduling may be accommodated
  • Weekend requirement is every other or 2 weekends per month
  • Holiday rotation with regular staff
    Unit Specific Information
  • Unit orientation includes paperwork, logins for Omnicel and Epic, and a unit tour
  • Two additional shifts with a preceptor required
    Additional Details
  • 50-mile radius rule for local clinicians accepted at $60/hr
  • Fingerprint requirement must be completed within 10 days
  • Flu vaccine required with medical exemption only
