Our multidisciplinary team provides psychological, medical, activity therapy, nursing, chaplain, and social services to residents in a collaborative and supportive environment.

About the Role

We are seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team of mental health professionals. This is a full-time position with a flexible work schedule (4 ten-hour days or 5 eight-hour days).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care for patients diagnosed with Schizophrenia, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, and dual diagnoses involving substance abuse.
  • Evaluate new admissions and oversee patient discharges.
  • Conduct daily one-on-one sessions with a manageable caseload of 15 patients per day.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in treatment planning and execution, including participation in mandatory treatment mall sessions.
  • Utilize EMR systems for documentation and patient care planning.
  • Supervise and collaborate with PMHNPs and other clinical staff as needed.

Campus Details

Our hospital campus includes specialized units to meet a variety of patient needs:

  • Forensic Transition Unit: Lower risk patients (caseload 1:20)
  • Admitting Forensic Units: Moderate to high-risk patients with 1 2 admissions per week (caseload 1:15 1:20)
  • Adult Mental Health Unit: Focused on community stabilization with repeat utilizers (caseload 1:13, 1 2 admissions per week)

Qualifications:

  • MD/DO degree with active board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry.
  • Valid Georgia medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Expertise in treating complex mental health cases, including forensic psychiatry experience (preferred but not required).
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
