The Orientation & Mobility Instructor at Lighthouse Guild is responsible for teaching individuals who are visually impaired essential travel skills to navigate independently and safely. This role involves creating customized programs and employing various instructional techniques suited to each individual's needs, contributing to their overall independence and confidence. Candidates must possess a Master's Degree and current O&M certification from ACVREP (COMS) to be considered for this impactful position.

Our Rehabilitation Department is seeking a full time Orientation and Mobility Instructor. The O&M Instructor is responsible for teaching individuals who are blind/visually impaired to travel as independently, safely, and efficiently as possible in any environment. The O&M Instructor teaches travel skills; plans and provides individualized O&M programs while positively motivating individuals to develop appropriate skills, attitudes, and knowledge; utilizes a variety of instructional techniques appropriate to their abilities; and creates a safe and orderly learning environment.
Requirements:
Master's Degree
Current O&M certification by ACVREP (COMS)
