Would be working with another nocturnist physician, at minimum. Some nights may also include a nocturnist APP in-house with both physicians.

Average number of patients per physician per night? Overall FULL house capacity is about 130 - so roughly 50-60 per doc. If nocturnist APP is on duty with the two docs, APP will cover all floor calls and assist with consults/admissions as needed. Physicians will be primarily responsible for consults/admissions and ICU/CCU coverage.
Average number of admissions per night? varies - anywhere from 6-14
Average number of discharges? at night, minimal to zero. Noct APP starts at 3pm and will assist days with end-of-day discharges. Noct physicians rarely do a discharge from the floor.
Back-up specialties? Robust with the exception of Pulm/CC which is the primary reason for the additional physician nocturnist at night.
