Teach classes assigned by the Program Coordinator2. Prepare and file common course syllabi with the Program Director3. Prepare and file with the Program Coordinator and the Director of Nursing & Allied Health course outlines for all courses and follow such guides for courses already established4. Prepare requests for instructional materials, such as books, audio visual aids and supplies for the annual budget and submit them to the Program Coordinator5. Keep records of grades and attendance of students and submit them to the Registrar at thecompletion of the course6. Be on campus or at assigned work station each college day7. Post an office hour and laboratory schedule on office door and provide a copy to the appropriate Dean and Program Coordinator8. Serve as directed on such faculty committees as may be established9. Be available to serve as adviser to students or prospective students10. Be available to assist with student registration and orientation functions11. Participate in ongoing student assessment activities and participate in student problem solving activities in collaboration with the Program Coordinator12. Assist the Coordinator in the ongoing development, implementation, evaluation and revision of the Practical Nursing curriculum13. Assist in the recruitment, admissions, withdrawal and graduation of students14. Assist the Coordinator in the construction, implementation, evaluation and revision of the Practical Nursing curriculum15. Conduct orientation of students to each clinical site and assure appropriate student clinicalassignments and learning opportunities for all students16. Provide personal transportation to the clinical site17. Attend and participate in professional meetings, conference, workshops, courses and ongoing development of clinical expertise18. Serve as faculty advisor to the Practical Nursing Student Organization19. Attend meetings of the Practical Nursing Faculty and the Allied Health Division and serve oncommittees of either as appointed or elected20. Perform other duties as assigned by the Practical Nursing, Program Director, Associate Dean of Nursing & Allied Health, and or the Dean of Nursing & Allied Health21. Predictable and reliable Attendance is required in order to provide consistency and continuity of educational services.Required Education: Associate Degree required from an accredited institutionRequired Experience: 5 years of nursing experience; at least on of these five years must have been as a medical-surgical hospital staff nurse providing direct patient care.An applicant for nurse instructor must have practiced as a nurse for a minimum of six full-time months during the five years immediately preceding application .Required Licenses or Certifications:Unrestricted Louisiana licensure as RN (must be approved by LSBPNE) to practice as a registered nurse.Valid driver's licensePreferred Education: Bachelor's degreePassing pre-employment criminal background and drug screen are required as a condition of employment.Advertised: 07 Aug 2024 Central Daylight Time Applications close:
