Trillium Construction is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in consultative sales within the retail/commercial construction or related industries. As a Business Development Manager, you will prospect and sell new business while nurturing and growing ongoing client relationships. This position offers the flexibility of being remote with national travel as required to support job sites and client relationships. Responsibilities: -Identify and generate new strategic revenue growth by qualifying new clients and markets. -Build and maintain client relationships to drive continuous revenue growth aligned with company objectives. -Serve as the primary liaison for new and designated existing clients, overseeing the entire sales cycle: prospecting, developing, proposing, negotiating, and closing sales. -Ensure client satisfaction and retention through effective implementation and, if necessary, A/R collections. -Collaborate with internal teams to provide superior account management services and meet client needs. -Achieve annual sales quotas for both new and existing clients and attend industry networking events to promote business. -Prepare and maintain sales prospecting and development reports, ensuring accurate sales forecasts and other documentation. -Quote prices, credit terms, and prepare sales contracts. -Compile prospective client lists based on various resources for use as sales leads. -Mentor and lead team members in a collaborative, team-selling approach when applicable. -Participate in the annual budgeting process for revenue, gross profit, and expenses for designated accounts and new clients. -Ensure that client-required documents are obtained for timely invoicing. -Lead the discovery process to define specific client needs, including scopes of work, estimating process details, project timelines, and other critical elements to meet client expectations. Qualifications: -At least 5 years of consultative sales experience in retail/commercial construction or a related industry (e.g., commercial signage, fixtures, commercial lighting). -Nationwide travel required as needed. -Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with Salesforce or related software. -Familiar with construction industry concepts, practices, codes, and procedures. -Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. -Strong skills in selling, relationship-building, negotiation, and closing. -Advanced organizational and communication skills. -Capable of writing reports and business correspondence. -Strong ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public. -Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to various situations. -In-depth knowledge of company services, capabilities, competition, and internal policies. -Advanced time management and organizational skills.
