Mighty Bread Co. is a James Beard nominated bakery in South Philadelphia specializing in naturally leavened breads, pastry, and delicious cafe fare. We are looking for counter staff!
Join our passionate and dedicated team in our beloved neighborhood bakery cafe. Our front-of-house staff is responsible for the daily execution of sales of made to order, retail and bakery items; food running and bussing; and making drinks for our beverage program. Team lead will take on additional responsibilities and act as a point person for operations and hospitality when FOH Manager is not on the floor.
Maintaining a fun and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike is of paramount importance to us - kind and courteous folks only! You'll have super reasonable daytime hours & opportunity to learn the cafe top to bottom in a positive work environment with an awesome team. Weekend availability is a must, neat freaks to the front.
We are currently looking to fill five shifts a week. This schedule comes with full benefits (healthcare, dental, vision, PTO).
Responsibilities include:
• Maintaining a fun and welcoming environment for our guests.
• Greeting guests and walking them through the steps of service.
• Execution of all cafe beverages (including coffee and cocktails) to specifications set by management.
• Daily and ongoing maintenance of POS and bar areas, all retail displays, dining area and restroom.
• Opening and closing the cafe to specifications set by management.
• Ensuring accurate payment from all guests.
• Problem solving customer issues and reporting them to management.
• Operating the POS, including generating accurate tickets for the kitchen and barista.
• Completely daily prep lists and side work as assigned.
• Developing and maintaining a thorough product knowledge for all kitchen, cafe, retail and bakery items.
• Running food and execution of table service for weekends and events.
Team lead specific responsibilities include:
- Acting as point person for customer complaints/issues when manager is not available.
- Ensuring sidework is delegated properly/completed when manager is not available.
- Overall, acting as a resource for other employees in terms of product knowledge, café information, customer service comportment, multi-tasking, task-orientation, prioritization, delegation, and attitude on the floor.
- Acting as sole shift leader for one weekend service each week.
At least 1 year of FOH experience preferred, espresso experience a plus. Even if this doesn't apply to you, please reach out; we are very willing to take a chance on a candidate with the right attitude over the right experience!
