Senior Instrument & Controls Technician$34-$42/hr | Full-Time | Rochester, NYOur client is a leading multi-utility generation plant and they are looking for an experienced Senior Instrument & Controls Technician to join their team. If you enjoy the challenge of maintaining and improving power plant control systems, this is the role for you!Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate the I&C team to meet plant maintenance needs. Install, repair & calibrate process instruments such as pressure, flow, temperature, and analytical controls. Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic and electronic final control elements, including control valves and damper drives. Work with motor starters and electrical enclosures to resolve control system issues. Periodically inspect and calibrate instruments and test equipment to ensure they meet specifications. Maintain & troubleshoot I/O, power systems & controller hardware for PLCs and DCS. Administer plant distributed control system and ensure change control protocols. Collaborate with key suppliers & outside contractors to maintain & improve control systems. Reconfigure plant controls & operating graphics to improve efficiency and performance. Ensure the physical security of control system equipment and identify opportunities for operational improvements.Qualifications: Associate's degree in engineering technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 10+ years of experience working with industrial utility plant control systems. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills. Experience with DCS, PLCs, and industrial systems like boilers, turbines, chillers, and compressors. Familiarity with industrial equipment network media, including copper and fiber, as well as Windows operating systems. Ability to interpret circuit diagrams, electrical schematics, and other technical documents. Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.Work Environment: Industrial environment with varying conditions, including extreme temperatures & noise. May require working on rooftops, in basements, or in areas with chemical exposure. Requires operation of heavy-duty machinery, such as boom lifts, scissors lifts, forklifts, and power-walkie trucks.Physical Demands: Position requires physical exertion, including climbing, crawling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
