Title: Lead Technical Engineer

Location: Hybrid 3x per week in Palo Alto

Overview of Role:

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering Team , responsible for building and maintaining the critical infrastructure powering our suite of healthcare-focused SaaS products. This team is tasked with creating scalable, reliable, and low-latency solutions for hospitals and government healthcare systems.

This role offers a unique blend of technical challenges, ownership, and collaboration within a highly skilled and dynamic team, with an emphasis on scalability, AI integration, and cross-functional teamwork.

Role Description:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Python and modern cloud platforms (GCP ).
• Build and optimize microservices with a focus on low latency, reliability, and scalability to support platform growth and increased user demand.
• Collaborate on the development of core products:
• Chat Platform : An internal AI-powered "front door" for hospital employees to efficiently route inquiries to the correct source of information.
• Government Healthcare Systems Platform : A solution to analyze and optimize healthcare spending, enabling cost reduction and efficient resource allocation.
• Generative AI Workflow Platform : A generative AI-powered tool to define and streamline operational processes.
• Lead the design and implementation of robust APIs to enable seamless integration and functionality across the platform.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines , distributed systems, and large-scale system design with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Leverage expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform , and LangChain for efficient system deployment and infrastructure management.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including technical product and machine learning engineers, to ensure system alignment with product goals.
• Take full ownership of assigned projects, demonstrating initiative and the ability to work without close supervision.

Skills and Experience:

• 8+ years of relevant industry experience in backend software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Proven experience building microservices , designing REST APIs , and working with distributed systems.
• Solid background in CI/CD pipelines , large-scale system design, and handling platforms with growing scalability needs.
• Familiarity with tools like Docker , Kubernetes , and Terraform for containerization and infrastructure as code.
• Experience with LangChain and Generative AI , especially in chatbot development, is a strong plus.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to rotate between projects and adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively in agile, cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with MAANG or similar large-scale organizations combined with startup exposure.
• Knowledge of the healthcare domain is a plus, though not required.
