Job Title: Structural Design Engineer Job Description We are currently seeking a full-time Structural Design Engineer. The successful candidate will possess licensure as a Wisconsin Professional Engineer and have relevant experience designing Wisconsin State, County, Municipal, and Township transportation structural infrastructures. The candidate should have experience in designing transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, box culverts, and retaining walls. Proficiency in utility and agency coordination, as well as creating project reports including environmental and design study reports, is essential.
Responsibilities - Design transportation structures including bridges, culverts, box culverts, and retaining walls.
- Coordinate with utilities and agencies for project approvals.
- Create project reports, including environmental and design study reports.
- Collaborate with design teams to provide input and ideas.
- Participate in construction inspection of transportation projects when necessary.
- Ensure project designs adhere to Wisconsin Facilities Development Manual standards.
- Produce plans, reports, and specifications for transportation projects.
Essential Skills - Professional Engineer License in Wisconsin
- Minimum of 2 years of transportation project design experience in Wisconsin
- Certified Bridge Inspector
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and 3D modeling
- Proficiency in the use of the Wisconsin Facilities Development Manual
- Strong plan, report, and specification production skills
- Detail-oriented with a desire to produce quality work
Additional Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Desire to obtain Professional Engineer License if not already licensed
- Experience with construction inspection of transportation projects is desired
- Interest in bridge inspection, with or without certification
Work Environment The position offers flexibility in work location, with options to sit in LaCrosse, Madison, WI Rapids, or Spring Green offices. The work primarily involves office duties with some periods of bridge inspection throughout the year.
