About the Role
The Company is seeking a General Counsel to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal guidance and support to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This includes managing contracts, developing and implementing policies, and providing legal counsel on a range of issues. The General Counsel will also be a key figure in public affairs, representing the organization in meetings with government officials and other stakeholders. A strategic and proactive approach to legal matters is essential, as is the ability to manage a legal team and outside advisors.Candidates for the General Counsel position at the company should have a Juris Doctor degree and a minimum of 10 years' legal experience, with a preference for those with a background in the non-profit or healthcare sector. The role requires a leader with a strong health law background, adept problem-solving skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships. The General Counsel will be expected to be a visible and credible leader, with high integrity and a commitment to the mission of the organization. Responsibilities also include risk management, employee relations, and special projects, making it important for the candidate to have a comprehensive understanding of legal issues and the ability to provide strategic legal advice to the executive team.
