Position Overview: The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying and maintaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments. This position involves preparing outgoing shipments and receiving deliveries at the warehouse dock, using warehouse management systems.
Key Responsibilities: - Label, pack, and load items for shipment according to specifications.
- Stage shipments for shipping.
- Accept shipments and prepare docks for receiving.
- Operate stretch wrap banders and prepare pallets and crates for shipping.
- Unload delivery vehicles and move items to appropriate areas.
- Inspect for damage, compare items and quantities received against freight bills or other records, and document discrepancies.
- Maintain records of all items received and shipped via warehouse management and inventory systems.
- Check receipts against purchase orders for proper shipment, shortages, damages, or defects.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, following prescribed safety regulations.
- Ensure the facility is inspection-ready at all times for SQFI, FDA, and customer needs.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree or two years of equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of six months experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to detail.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
