The Pricing & Claim Analytics Director is a critically important role that will require a forward-looking, analytical leader to support our goals as a best-in-class analytics function.The Pricing and Claims Analytics Director will be responsible for monitoring results and developing projections with underlying driver attribution analysis of claim loss costs across all GEICO products in close partnership with Finance, Reserving, Claims, Insurance Product State Management and Pricing leadership. Additionally, this role will partner across Pricing leadership and broad business stakeholders to help inform the pricing & reserving strategy and roadmap. The ideal candidate will use an analytical decision process to build a dynamic claims and loss cost analytics strategy that delivers accurate and insightful projections to inform management decision making resulting in achieving profit, growth, and customer lifetime value goals.Responsibilities:Provide context around loss cost trends to inform decision making within the pricing function, and across a variety of external stakeholders (reserving, state management, finance).Clearly communicate impact of underlying drivers (claims operational, environmental, product/underwriting/marketing, etc) on loss cost results and projections.Key stakeholder in the build and maintenance of models to predict the effects of changes in pricing, claims, and environmental factors on loss costs.Advise/consult regarding complicated trade-offs of profitability and policy/premium volumes with multiple competing cross-functional priorities to achieve what's best for the business.Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.Lead/collaborate where appropriate ad-hoc analysis to help drive business outcomes, including variance analysis and drill-down/through data mining to identify underlying drivers for actionable business insights.Manage and develop a strong team who can elevate data and analytics capabilities and become the one source of truth for claim analytics and loss projections, and who can elevate statistical analysis capabilities combined with deep product and operational knowledge to maximize business impact.Ensure all output is timely, accurate, and coordinated with relevant stakeholders.Partnership and ability to work through others will be key, this person must be able to navigate the organization to best support pricing needs.Qualifications:8+ years of increasing responsibility in pricing / pricing-related experience, data/analysis, finance, or insurance product management.Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Ability to effectively manage team's priorities, providing accurate and timely results.Effective time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills.Ability to communicate complex data simply to a wide range of audiences.Demonstrated leadership and strategic contributions in complex business settings; experience working with executive and senior management to develop and implement successful business solutions.Location:This is a hybrid role, on-site 3 days per week at Chevy Chase, MD, Chicago, IL, or New York, NY.Annual Salary:$140,425.00 - $229,600.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
