About the job Business Development Representative
Our client specializes in first aid equipment, supplies, eyewash stations, and OSHA-required products to commercial clients across various industries. With a reputation for delivering superior products, outstanding service, and holistic, solution-based customer care, the company has achieved consistent double-digit growth for three consecutive years. They are seeking a dynamic Business Development Representative (BDR) to cover the Keizer-to-Eugene territory and contribute to their continued expansion.
This is a home-office-based position (after initial training) where you'll work directly with decision-makers such as owners, presidents, and safety managers to close contracts for the company's first aid and safety solutions. With a 50% closing ratio and highly supportive service teams, this consultative yet transactional role focuses on selling value-not just pricing. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, and 401(k), along with the opportunity to represent a company that values its employees and prioritizes hiring top talent.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and establish new business within the Keizer-to-Eugene territory by identifying and engaging commercial companies across various industries.
- Sell first aid cabinets, kits, eyewash stations, OSHA-compliant products, and related supplies through a consultative sales approach.
- Make calls, build relationships, and close contracts with an average target of 8 new accounts per month ($900/account).
- Work with decision-makers at all levels, including owners, presidents, and safety managers, to highlight the total value of the company's products and services.
- Follow a structured sales process, representing the company professionally and pivoting between transactional and consultative selling as needed.
- Collaborate with supportive Service Sales Representatives (SSR) who will manage accounts after contracts are signed.
- Achieve a 40% commission on all new accounts for the first four months of activation.
Qualifications - Proven B2B sales experience with a track record of success in contract-based sales (e.g., service, linen, maintenance, or staffing industries).
- Demonstrated ability to self-organize, plan, and execute a structured sales process effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage decision-makers at all levels.
- Motivated, assertive, and capable of building long-lasting client relationships without arrogance or pretense.
- Experience selling to the blue-collar market while maintaining a professional, white-collar approach.
- Must be creative, self-driven, and adept at finding business opportunities and navigating complex sales conversations.
