What is this career opportunity?
The Architecture & Engineering Division (A&E) is looking for a dedicated professional to be their next Planning Manager for the State of Montana's Long-Range Building Program. You would work closely with all State agencies, the University system, and A&E staff to develop project requests and provide capital planning for the biennial legislative session. Project requests range from small remodels, to repair and maintenance, to extensive renovations, and to new buildings across the state. You would meet with agency staff, view facilities, learn about the needs, and recommend solutions drawing on your broad industry knowledge to involve mechanical, electrical and/or architectural consultants as needed. You would then help create project descriptions, do preliminary planning, cost estimating, and present approved projects to the legislature. This position also provides design-phase management of projects approved through the legislative process. Wearing this hat, you would follow procurement and construction laws to bid out projects.
(You can learn more about the division here.)
This position affords the opportunity to telework from a remote location within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be outlined as part of the job offer and must adhere to state policy.
