EAD supports clients' projects on thousands of systems in industrial processing facilities specializing in food and beverage, life sciences, specialty chemical, consumer goods and parcel and logistics. This opportunity will enable you to enjoy a fast-paced environment working on projects of all sizes and complexities.EAD Engineering is seeking a Process/Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical and process engineering projects in industrial and processing facilities.Responsibilities:Prepare drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, engineering best practices, and EAD standards.Develop process heat and material balances.Create Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).Communicate with process and mechanical equipment vendors.Perform process and mechanical design calculations.Design mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and utility piping for processing facilities.Develop and design equipment and piping layouts.Specify mechanical equipment for industrial and commercial projects, including pressure vessels, atmospheric tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, conveyors, pneumatic conveying systems, and dust collection systems.Provide consultation on environmental compliance issues and permitting requirements.Participate in discipline-specific and company-wide business development efforts.Interface with clients, vendors, construction administrators, and project teams.Conduct and document technical design reviews with other disciplines to ensure the highest level of quality.Adhere to all EAD safety standards and practices.Perform other related duties as assigned.Requirements:B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.Strong understanding of mechanical and process engineering fundamentals.Commitment to obtain EIT certification within the first 12 months.Aspiration to obtain Licensed Professional Engineer certification.Strong organizational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, vendors, and in-house staff.Proficiency in Excel, including the use of macros.Ability to troubleshoot process and operational problems and provide solutions.Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.AutoCAD experience is a plus.Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Preferred Certification and Skills:Prior engineering experience through a Co-op or internship is preferred.Experience with Aspen or CHEMCAD process simulation software is preferred.HVAC, heat transfer, utility/piping, and/or plumbing systems experience preferred.AutoCAD experience is a plus.Working Conditions:Office environment - Ability to sit and work at computer for extended periods of timeAbility to walk up numerous flights of stairs and/or work in confined spaces in extreme conditionsAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.Periodic weekend or evening work as neededTravel may be requiredWe strongly believe that diversity of experience, perspectives, and background will lead to a better workplace for our employees and a better product for our customers.EAD is an Equal Opportunity Employer
